“I adopted my very own manatee at www.savethemanattee.org. I used money raised from my latest concert in Borodino NY. Thank you to all the people that help support my music so I can support great causes like Save the Manatees.”
Sydney Irving is a 16 year old singer-songwriter from upstate New York. At an early age, she was exposed to many different veins of music which would later help her to develop her unique sound. Sydney's music has a folk-rock-pop sound with influences like Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, The Lumineers, and Eddie Vedder to name a few. On her 8th birthday, Sydney received her first guitar which sat in the corner and collected dust until she started taking lessons at the age of 9. With a knack for creating catchy melodies and thoughtful, dynamic lyrics, she began writing songs at 11. Not long after, Sydney began preforming frequently at local open mics and striving to perfect her craft.
In February 2017, she released her debut album, "Hello Stranger" at just 13 years old. It includes 8 songs written and preformed solely by Sydney. The songs have a pop folk acoustic sound, show casing the young musician's wholehearted, truthful lyrics and voice. "Hello Stranger" was nominated for a SAMMY award for "Best Singer-Songwriter" in 2018. Without hesitation, Sydney continued to develop her skills and the following year she released her newest album, "The Halfmoon Sessions". The collection of songs was released on November 18, 2018 with an addition of lead guitar, bass, and drums to her acoustic (Breedlove) guitar, still holding true to poetic words and emotion. As of today, Sydney plays in a band with well seasoned musicians called "Sydney Irving & The Mojo". Sydney is working on her 3rd studio album as you read this!
